6/3/2010 OK, so I love BBQ. Just wanted to get that disclaimer out there. I had found a place in Woodstock which had really good pork. Then another place opened and they had great ribs 99% of the time, and the pork was pretty good, however the brisket was just alright. So I head about JD's and thought I would give it a go.
I really like small family style places where you can tell they really love cooking whatever it is they cook. This place only has about 10 tables or so, but the smell when you go inside is great. Really friendly staff, a first come seat yourself place. I went with the ribs/brisket as I love both, so it was only fitting I give them both a try. The ribs were really good. Fall off the bone but not over smoked. They were still juicy. Then I tasted the Brisket!!! It was unreal! The flavor of the smoke and the bark was great, mixed with the juiciness of the meat and just the perfect amount of marbled fat. My mouth is watering now just thinking about it. I can't wait to go back and take a few other BBQ lovers there.
I have eaten my fair share of BBQ from all over the state as well as many other states, and this is the best I have had so far. Next time I will do either pork/brisket or chicken/brisket, but I can't wait to go back next week.

The Best of the Best!
When it comes down to BBQ I am very picky. I come from Miami, Florida where barbecue has now contoured itself and changed over the years into a Tropical International Flavor Fest to please a multiple International public demand. I have had everything from Cuban BBQ to Peruvian BBQ and everything else in between from A to Z. JD's has a signature flavor that just leaves you craving for more and more. I moved to Acworth and I love it here. I live no more than half a mile away from JD's and I gotta tell you I wish I was closer! LOL! I love their BBQ style and I refuse to even think about any other place to go for BBQ with the exception of making it myself on my own in my back yard.
